Hi, my name is Josh, I've been looking into joining a LARP and I had a few questions.

I’m a music major and I need to practice nearly every day. So I was wondering if I could bring my guitar? I play classical, so the music and the instrument would, as far as I can tell, sort of fit into the realm of the game.

I wear contacts, so I was wondering what the facilities are like? Do we rough it out the entire time, or are there restrooms?

I’ve read part of the rule book, and I didn’t see anything on makeup besides you can’t use it as a disguise. Am I allowed to wear make up as war paint?

I can unofficially answer most of the other questions too:
The guitar should be fine; I've seen plenty of people bring instruments to games.
There are restrooms (quite nice ones at the Valor site).
Makeup as warpaint should be ok as long as it doesn't look anything like an actual PC or monster race.
Your best bet for weapons is probably to post a description here of what you want and ask people for quotes. There's a few people here who make very nice weapons.

Oh wow, I thought it would be around 9 points of armor.
What I thought of for the war paint would be three red stripes on my jaw. From what I've read, that doesn't look like any of the races. And the weapon I'm looking for is a one handed sword, with the blade preferably on the upper end of the length permitted. I had a few more questions. Do I need to buy pipe foam to wrap the above sword? How do I submit my Character History? I noticed that there was a form on the main page but it was taken down.

Ah yes latex weapons. Best way for new people to gear themselves and look good doing it. Most are usable. There are actually several vendors. you could also look at:

I believe all latex weapons still need to be approved by weapons marshals and there are some attacks, namely thrusts, that are not allowed with them. I think Thomas Hylton is the weapons marshal in these parts but Chris Hill might also be able to speak to that.

Usually a player somewhere can make you a sword for less money and you can be guaranteed its usability as a final consideration. If you go with the latex and the worst happens you can usually borrow one from somewhere (I frequently and lending a sword to someone)
